1. General Principles of Bet Sizing

Bet sizing is the ratio of the bet size to the pot (bet/pot).

It is not chosen randomly. It is based on several factors:

Factor Meaning Impact on Sizing
Range How much stronger or weaker a player's range is compared to the opponent The larger the equity advantage, the smaller the sizing
Board texture Dry (A72r) or coordinated (T98ss) The more draws on the board, the larger the sizing
Stack depth Effective stacks Deeper stacks allow larger bets, especially on the turn
Number of players Heads-up or multiway In multiway pots, sizings are smaller

2. Large Equity Advantage and Small Bets

One of the most counterintuitive points in GTO logic.

Why, with a large equity advantage, the bet is usually smaller, not larger.

Example:

BTN opens, BB calls. Flop: As 7d 2c.

BTN has many Ax hands (top pair), so BTN has a large range advantage.
