Types of Value Play

Bluff Postflop
- Equity < 30%
- Bet to generate folds and win without showdown
- Most difficult type — requires fold equity, math, and software skills
Pot Control
- Equity 30–55% (sometimes up to 50%+)
- Aim to reach showdown in a small pot

- Small (20–30%) bet to avoid paying a large value bet
- Often used OOP on the river
Protection Bet
- Equity 45–60%, deny free cards to draws
Freeze Bet (Protective Raise)
- Min-raise turn to:
- Extract from draws
- Stop aggression and simplify river
Provocative Bet
- Small bet with strong hand to induce bluff raises
