Medium Regular
Approximate HUD Profile
| Stat (HUD) | Value | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| VPIP | 22–28% | Plays moderately wide ranges, especially from CO/BTN |
| PFR | 20–22% | Opens regularly, but without heavy pressure |
| 3-bet | 6–7% | Includes bluff combos, but overall a "honest" 3-bet |
| Fold to 3-bet | 50–60% | Vulnerable to 3-bets, especially OOP and with marginal hands |
| C-bet Flop | 70–85% | Often auto-c-bets flop "by checklist," without turn plan |
| C-bet Turn | 50–60% | Sharp frequency drop — lines often break on turn |
| C-bet River | 40–55% | Extracts value, but bluff river is unstable |
| Fold to C-bet Flop | 50–58% | Does not overfold, but gives up on bad textures |
| WTSD | 26–30% | Selective in going to showdown |
| W$SD | 49–53% | Slight profit/around breakeven — struggles to realize equity |
| WWSF | 46–49% | Wins without showdown less than 50% → passivity on later streets |
| Aggression Factor | 2.2–3.0 | Medium aggression, drops on turn/river |
| Fold to River Probe | 55–65% | Often folds to river probes after missed barrel |
| Delayed C-bet Turn | 45–55% | Likes "delayed" barrel after flop check |
| Check-Raise Flop | 8–12% | Exists, but more hand-driven/on convenient textures |
Behavioral Traits
- Autopilot on flop: high c-bet without clear plan for which cards to barrel/fold.
- Does not finish lines: frequent check-back turn or give-up on river (especially OOP).
- Poor equity realization: WWSF <50% and folds on river probes are common.
- Thin balance: mixes bluff 3-bets and delayed c-bets, but board-family imbalances are readable.
- Standard sizings: uses textbook B30/B50 on flop, rarely polar overbets on turn/river.
Common Leaks
- No street plan → frequency drops on turn, give-ups on river.
- Under-defends vs 3-bets OOP and vs polar lines from late positions.
- Overuse of delayed c-bet: flop check IP → turn bet too "honest," gives up on river.
- Folds vs river probes/overbets after missed pressure.
- Does not attack capped ranges enough with flop x/r and barrels.
How to Exploit
Preflop
- Expand 3-bet vs their CO/BTN opens, add polar bluff 3-bets (Axs, K5s–K9s, blocker ATo/KQo mixes).
- Occasional 4-bet bluffs vs linear blind 3-bets (A5s–A4s, KQo mixes) — they dislike taking lines to river.
- Exploit fold-to-3-bet: at ~55–60%, increase value 3-bet sizing OOP.
Postflop as Aggressor
- Plan ahead: choose "barrel cards" (overcards to mid broadways, flush/straight runouts) and prepare 2nd barrel.
- Polar overbet turn on scary cards vs their call-flop → check-turn tendency.
- Selective triple barrels: polarize river (overbet/jam) on runouts where your range has nut advantage. Their fold to river probe/pressure is above average.
Postflop vs Their Aggression
- Float flop more with backdoor FD/SD and probe turn vs missed barrels (they like delayed c-bet but rarely push river).
- Check-raise flop on low/paired boards (T22, 883, 964r) — their auto-c-bet is vulnerable, defense imperfect.
- Vs delayed c-bet: call turn wider with position and attack river with big bets — they often give up.
Sizings
- Vs flop c-bet B30/B50: x/r to 3.5–4.5x with combo draws/straight draws and backdoors.
- Turn: polar B70–B120% on scare cards.
- River: polar overbet (120–150% pot) on boards where they struggle to represent nuts.
Board Patterns
- Low connected (6-5-4, 9-6-4r): auto-c-bet → folds vs turn pressure. Attack polar.
- Paired (T-T-x, 8-8-x): over-c-bets flop but under-defends vs x/r.
- High broadways (A-K-x, K-Q-x): barrels more; prefer bluff-catches with blockers and re-polarize boldly on river.
Play Checklist vs Medium Regular
- Flop: backdoor? overcard/straight draw? → float/x/r more.
- Turn: scare card? → barrel/overbet. If not — give up or take free river with showdown value.
- River: they fold to polar pressure after missed barrel → overbet bluffs with blockers.
If This Is You — Fixes
- Plan 2–3 street lines on flop: which cards to barrel, where to give up.
- Increase turn barrel frequency on boosters (overcards to opp's top pairs, flush/straight cards).
- Balance delayed c-bet: add river bluffs to avoid being "honest."
- Strengthen defense vs 3-bets: more IP 4-bet bluffs with blockers, fewer marginal OOP calls.
- Practice polar sizings on turn/river — use overbet as tool, not exception.
Short Summary
Medium Regular — reg with solid preflop frequencies (PFR ~20–22%, 3-bet ~6–7%), but chronic loss of pressure on later streets (WWSF <50%, frequent give-ups turn/river). Exploit: widen preflop 3-bets, apply polar sizings on scare cards, punish delayed c-bets, and use river overbets as main value and bluff tool.
